Two Stories About Flying Summary in English
The story of his first flight is based on a young seagull who is afraid to fly because of distrust of his wings. All his younger brothers and sisters can fly without fear despite their shorter wings. On the other hand, the young bird cannot muster the courage to trust his wings. He is always afraid when he goes to the edge of the ledge and tries to fly. His mother and father come to call him and threaten him to starve to death on the ledge if he does not fly. Despite all the scolding and shrill calls, he could not move. All day long, he watches his parents fly with his brothers and sisters and teach them to skim the waves.
One day, the whole family flies to a large plateau and on the opposite cliff, the seagull sits hungry. He begs his mother to bring him food. His mother chooses a piece of fish and flies towards him. Mad with hunger, he jumps on the fish with a loud cry. He falls outward and down into space and he can feel his wings cutting through the air. The next moment, he flies fearlessly and his brothers and sisters rise and dive with him.
The narrator of the story, Black Aeroplane, is a pilot who explains his error in judgment and how it creates problems. In the lesson, the pilot flies from Paris to London and dreams of a vacation with his family. He flies over a city and thinks about the delicious breakfast after landing. After flying over Paris, he sees the dark clouds, signifying the coming storm. For safety reasons, he should return to Paris but he has decided otherwise. To fulfill his dream of a vacation, he risks the lives of the passengers and steers the plane into the storm.
Everything becomes dark and all the instruments stop working. He loses control of the plane and the hope of their survival becomes bleak. The remaining fuel is very low and the pilot starts to panic about the situation. Suddenly, he sees another plane flying next to him through the storm. The pilot turns his plane towards the north in order to follow the strange plane. The pilot starts to get scared again because the fuel is low. The anonymous pilot guides them out of the storm and disappears. After landing, the pilot asks about the other plane but is shocked to learn that there were no other planes in the sky except his own.
